MISDIAGNOSED

So, I finally got in to see an Ears, Nose, and Throat Doctor after days of still feeling pressure and pain in my ear. He told me that my ear drum did not burst. Usually when your ear drum bursts, you feel immediate relief—not the case for me. He took a look and told me that I have a form of Shingles, caused from the Chicken Pox virus. In English, I have blisters all over my ear drum. Some of them have burst and that is why the ER doctor thought that my eardrum burst. Some of the effects of what I have are, hearing loss, vertigo, and nerve damage. I could experience all or none. I already have a little nerve damage, but not too severe. I feel like I have been on an airplane for five days, I just want my ears to pop. He said it’s very rare, which is just my luck. It will last 10-14 days for the blisters to either Pop or heal on their own. YUCK! Sorry to complain, but I find that letting out frustration on the keypad is very therapeutic:)

ENOUGH!!!!

So, about three weeks ago, I mentioned to a friend that we had avoided the ickaboo at our house all winter. I was quite proud of the fact that I had kept my family healthy. Boy was I premature in my gloating. Shortly after my conversation with my friend, Hailey came down with Strep throat. One week after Hailey’s Strep, both Connor and Olivia got RSV—a mild case, but still!!! And one week after that, I came down with a cold, which turned into a sinus infection that caused my eardrum to burst. Oh it gets worse!! Two days after my eardrum incident, I took Connor into the doctor to discover that both of his ears are infected. Needless to say, we have had enough!!! We are “California dreamin, on such a winter’s day”!!!!

MY kiDS CraCK mE Up!!!!

A Couple of days ago, Hailey came rushing down the stairs all distraught, “Someone put my toothbrush in the toilet!!!” HMMMMM, I wonder who did that? Connor, did you put Hailey’s toothbrush in the toilet? “No, the Rat did it.” What?? Connor, that’s not true, did you put Hailey’s toothbrush in the toilet? “No, you did it, mom.” Ok, Connor, last chance, did you put Hailey’s toothbrush in the toilet? “UMMMM, I fink (think) Owivia (Olivia) did it.” No, Connor, Olivia did not do it. I think it was you. Did you put Hailey’s toothbrush in the toilet? Finally, he admits to the crime. I put him on a time out and we have a firm chat about not putting toys and toothbrushes in the toilet. Two days after I replace Hailey’s toothbrush, he throws it in the toilet, and this time he finishes what he started—he flushed it down!!!! This was not his first offense. Here is a list of things that have gone missing down the toilet: A match box car, the VW bus from the cars movie (which clogged the toilet and I had to fish it out with a hanger), Hailey’s Ariel cell phone and Hailey’s Dora figurine and, of course, Hailey’s new toothbrush. After a really long time out and a whole day with out Lightning McQueen, I hope his days as the “flusher” are over.

The other Day at Target, my kids were starting to get a little hyper, and I said, “you guys settle down, you are making this shopping trip really hard for mommy. To my surprise, they actually settled down, and that was that. Well, about ten minutes go by and Hailey looks up at me and says, “Mom, I am really sorry that I am not treating you good.” Of course, my heart breaks. I stop in my tracks and look her in the eyes, “Hailey, you are really good to me. What are you talking about?” Her reply, “No mom, I haven’t been very good to you at Target today and I just really wanted to say that to you because it’s almost Valentines Day.” Then she gives me this look, wraps her arms around me, and pats my back like, “it’s going to be ok mom.” I had the hardest time not busting a gut laughing because she was so darn serious.

Where do they come up with this stuff? Anyway, I love them both, even when they are acting hyper or flushing stuff down the toilet!!!!

14 Favorite Photos

I GOT TAGGED!!! THE CHALLENGE, CHOOSE 10 OF YOUR FAVORITE PICS. I FOUND THIS TO BE IMPOSSIBLE. SO, HERE ARE 14 OF MY FAVORITE PICTURES:

Hailey the Diva!

When Connor was 18 months, he loved to play under the cupboard in our bathroom. He would climb in, shut the door, and laugh until someone would come and find him.

Hailey has always been goofy--it's one of my favorite things about her.

Can you say stinkin' cute!!!!

Connor broke his arm one week before his second birthday. We told the doctor he jumped off his highchair without his cape. Proof that even Superman can have an off day!!

Dave is such a fun daddy. This picture says it all. Thanks, Wendy for the awesome shot!

After all is said and done, they really do love each other!!!

THE HAIRCUT!!! I love this picture for so many reasons. After Hailey cut off all of her hair, her preschool teacher told me she had trouble using scissors. Really? Cause I don't think so!!!!

Hailey has always loved Tinkerbell. I think she is the cutest fairy ever!!! This picture of Dave and Olivia makes me melt!!!!This picture of Livi makes me smile. I love how she is sticking out her tongue!!

Connor loves to eat snow, and he loves to be silly. I love how this pic captures his cute personality!

More proof they LOVE each other!!!

We need a bigger Bed!!!!!!

OK, I TAG ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO TRY AND PICK 10 OF THEIR FAVORITE PICTURES (OR 14)! HECK, I SAY THE MORE THE BETTER. HAVE FUN GOING THROUGH ALL OF YOUR ALBUMS. I KNOW THAT I DID!!!!!

Goodbye 20's Hello THIRTY!!!!!!

Today, I said goodbye to twenty-something and moved forward into Thirty! I feel so excited to have finally arrived. This morning, I woke up and decided to read from my "Live learn and pass it on" book, when I stumbled upon this quote:

"I've learned that I don't feel my age as long as I focus on my dreams instead of my regrets."

It got me thinking about the things I've done so far in life that I am proud of, and things I want to do in my next thirty years. So, here is a list of what I am proud of:

My mission. Learned so much, grew so much. Loved it!!!!!

Married Handsome Dave. Living happily ever after . . . most of the time!

My first Daughter, Hailey Sue Hague. Love her so much!!!

Dave's graduation from the U of U! Stand by your man.

Surprise! Baby #2, Connor, Nonnor-Ba-Nonnor, Con-man, the sweetest little man ever!

Law school graduation. One of our proudest days! Way-to-go, Dave. Way-to-go, Me!

Baby #3, Olivia Judy Hague, aka Little Livi. We are all having so much fun with this new addition.

Things I plan to do in the next thirty years:
1. Go on a tropical getaway with My Boyfriend (in case you're worried, that's what I call Dave.)
2. Learn to play the songs in the Primary Song Book on the piano
3. Take a Photoshop class (Casi we have to do this!!!)
4. Finish my kids scrapbooks, hopefully with the help of Digital Scrapbooking:)
5. Write a childrens book
6. Spoil my Grandbabies:)
7. Go on a Mission with my hubby
8. Go back and visit Lawrence Kansas...My heart aches for that place and that time!!!
9. Eat frozen Hot chocolate at Serendipity and see Wicked on Broadway or whatever is playing when I get there.
10. Shop in New York
There are plenty of other things I would like to do, but the list has to end somewhere.
P.S. I still remember when thirty was Old!!!!

Santa Clause and President Hinckley

Today we were watching President Hinckley's funeral when Hailey said: "Mom, I don't believe in bad guys because they're mean. I only believe in good guys like Santa Clause and President Hinckley." It was so cute. Dave and I cracked up laughing.
